Steinberg becomes first DAW manufacturer to offer a cross platform EuCon solution
Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH today announced an update to the EuCon adapter module for its Nuendo Media Production System to version 3.2.1. While the new version further extends the existing level of Nuendo EuCon integration, the main feature of the update is its cross platform capability, making Nuendo the first EuCon-enabled digital audio workstation for PC as well as for Mac.
While PC users have been able to benefit from EuCon’s outstanding interfacing capabilities, Nuendo Mac users can now also interface with a range of Euphonix products including MC, System 5-MC. The recently introduced Hybrid option even allows seamless integration between Nuendo and any of the Euphonix System 5-F/P/BP/M consoles. Version 3.2.1 of the Nuendo EuCon adapter also adds new features, providing workflow and overview improvements. New transport commands commonly used in post production have been included, as well as new facilities to provide improved overview on the assignment of plug-ins in insert and send slots on the hardware channel strips.
“The Mac-compatible Version 3.2.1 of the EuCon adapter for Nuendo is the logical next step, and supports Steinberg’s long-standing commitment to cross-platform solutions for the audio industry,” says Lars Baumann, Steinberg’s Senior Product Manager for Nuendo. “But it also allows us to integrate requests and feedback from editors and mixers working with Euphonix hardware and Nuendo software in the form of new features,” he continues.
